Exclusive-Use Campsite
It`s all yours!
Whether you’re reconnecting with loved ones, celebrating a special occasion, or simply escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we want to make sure you leave with memories to cherish for a lifetime. Here’s everything you need to know about your stay.
Stay your way
Pitch your tent, your way
Set up your own tents on our spacious site. We also welcome caravans and motorhomes (we don’t have electric hook-ups, so be sure to charge up before you arrive). It’s the ideal setup for anyone looking for a traditional camping experience with some welcome home comforts, as well as plenty of space to stretch out.
We are family-friendly – and that includes dogs
Children of all ages love the freedom on offer at Riddlesworth Park Campsite. As we’re a working farm and home to horses and sheep, we ask that dogs are kept on leads while on the campsite to keep them and our livestock safe. But the good news for your four-legged friends is that we have our own secure dog park a couple of fields away, as well as miles of beautiful dog walks, so they can enjoy freedom in the wilds of Norfolk too!
“Family is not an important thing.
It’s everything.”
Michael J Fox
Our story
Riddlesworth Park is nestled within our family`s 800-acre farm, which has been in the Chandler family since 1969. For over 20 years, Ben and his father, John, have worked together to run the farm, growing a variety of crops including vegetable, sugar beet, wheat, and barley
Driven by his commitment to sustainability, Ben sought to restore parts of the land to ancient parkland, creating a space that nurtures both nature and people. and so, Riddlesworth Park Campsite was born.
The farm`s evolution is guided by a singular mission – to ensure its sustainability for generations to come. As you enjoy your stay, you`ll notice the rich wildlife that thrives here, from butterflies and deer to muntjac, hares, and an array of birds including red kites, hattiers, owls, and buzzards. If you`re lucky, you might even spot a newt or two!
Ben`s dedication to preserving the countryside has led him to plant native wild grasses, replant miles of trees – all in the pursuit of encouraging local biodiversity and fostering a healthier, more vibrant environment.
As for me, my passion for horses and wildflowers runs deep. You`ll likely meet my dear old horse, Ernesto, along with his companions, enjoying their retirement in our rolling paddocks. My love for wilds, free foral arrangements – and the joy they bring – means you`ll always be greeted by a fresh jug of seasonal flowers from my cutting garden.
We look forward to welcoming you soon.

Campfire cooking
Someone famous once said “Light a campfire and everyone’s a storyteller” but in fact it’s quite hard to find campsites that allow this wonderful old tradition. We trust our guests (plus we’ve installed our own old-fashioned fire bell!) so you can experience the joys of cooking over wood, sharing campfire stories and all the adventure and life-lessons that building your own fire brings.
The Barn
Rain or shine, The Barn is here to enhance your stay. This cosy, multifunctional space (with power and light) built by Ben entirely from recycled materials from our farm, has spacious outdoor decking leading onto:
- A large, undercover firepit cooking area (with sustainably sourced logs provided) means you can cook outdoors whatever the weather
- A sociable covered dining area seating up to 40 people as well as a sociable bar with space for 6 to sit comfortably
- The snug. Fully enclosed, it has four comfy sofas and a wood burning stove: the ideal place for hours of chatting, reminiscing and catching up with friends or playing family board games. As well as a perfect space to warm up and dry off after a day paddleboarding or having a children vs grown ups water fight, it has also been turned into a disco, an escape room and a spa (thanks to a mobile a luxury home spa service) by our imaginative guests!
Your kids can run free!
We have two boys (and often many more – we`re that kind of home!) so we know the value of letting them run free, worry free. With five acres of space to explore, your children can run wild in nature.
Our woodland play area and outdoor games provide endless entertainment, whicle you can relax, catch up with friends, finish a book or enjoy an uninterrupted conversation – knowing your kids are having the time of their lives!
Comforts and facilities
All the practical details that make the stay comfortable.
Hot, clean power showers and flushing loos
Speaking of those home comforts, guests love our showers and loos – they’re modern, spotlessly clean and transform your camping experience. It’s like having your own ensuite facilities in the great outdoors!
The Pantry
No camping trip is complete without good food! The Pantry is furnished with an American-style fridge freezer, drinks fridge, and plenty of shelving to store your essentials. Wooster’s Bakery bakes traditional and artisan pastries, bread and cakes from their bakery on our farm, selling it at local stores and farm shops, so you can pre-order mouth-watering treats (with no nasties – we highly recommend their croissants, cheddar and jalapeno sourdough and brownies). Garboldisham Village Store is just a 5-minute drive away, selling fresh vegetables, local free-range eggs, fresh local meat, newspapers as well as all the other daily essentials. Tesco’s, Sainsburys and Morrisons will also deliver to the campsite.
The Kitchen
Cooking on a camping trip doesn’t have to be a hassle. Our kitchen features two large sinks, hot and cold running water, and a draining area – so you won’t be stuck washing up in tiny bowls. What’s more, the children can have a blast doing the washing up as we don’t mind if our floor gets drenched during a suds-fuelled water fight!
Late Sunday checkout
Please always ask if you’d like to extend your holiday for a few precious hours – we will always try to accommodate you if we can.
We have our own microclimate!
It’s true! There’s something about the way that land lies at Riddlesworth Park which means it’s often a few degrees warmer at the campsite than in the surrounding fields. It can even be raining at the farmhouse, but sunny at the campsite (which makes for spectacular rainbows!).

Our farm
Since 1969, Home Farm has been owned and run by Ben`s father, John, who enjoy growing potatoes, sugar beet, carrots, onions, wheat and barley. Not only this, but they also have a large free-range egg farm, so there are always plenty of fresh eggs for breakfast!
As is common with many farms nowadays, we`re always looking for and trialling new ways to diversify our farm.
Repurposed our old farm buildings to light commercial units as well as a few containers to let
Three acres of secure parkland where you can exclusively let your dogs play, exercise, and train
Sowing a native wild grass mix and replanting hedges and trees with the goal of encouraging the natural diversity of the local plant and wildlife.
16,000 egg laying free range chickens
Nature and reconnection
Digital Detox, peace, and stargazing
Nature and the great outdoors
Reconnecting with nature and digital detox
One of the most cherished things about Riddlesworth Park is that we offer a true escape from the digital world. Our guests love being able to switch off from screens and reconnect with nature. There’s no Wi-Fi on-site, and we intentionally keep it that way, allowing families to truly unplug. (For emergencies, there is patchy 4G signal, just in case you need it…and our farmhouse is only two fields away).
Stargazers’ paradise
If you’re visiting from London or any other urban area, prepare to be amazed by our skies. The sunsets are nothing short of breath-taking, but it’s the night skies that truly steal the show. Here, you’ll find a view untouched by light pollution, offering a stunning canvas of stars, constellations, and even the occasional planetary parade. On rare nights, you might even catch a glimpse of the aurora borealis. Whether you’re simply gazing up or stargazing with a sense of wonder, the skies here are something to behold.
“My only wish is to stay like this.”
